ASSESSMENT STRATEGIES AND EVALUATION TECHNIQUES

There is no formal Examination for Nursery, LKG and UKG. Teachers will make Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation through observation of children while they participate in a play based, flexible learning approach.

Development of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy is the thrust for Grades I and II. Hence, Competency Based Learning which focuses on the student’s demonstration of desired learning outcomes is being adopted to promote learning. Assessment will be through 8 cycle tests conducted every month. Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, Observation, Problem Solving Ability and Group Work will be assessed through oral and written activities periodically.

Learning Outcomes based assessment prescribed by NCERT for Grades III to VIII that are observable and measurable, which empower learners to focus on mastery of valuable skills is being used.

Learning outcomes are statements of what a learner is expected to know, understand and be able to demonstrate after completion of a process of learning.

Therefore, the focus is on measuring learning through attainment of prescribed learning outcomes, rather than on routine tests and pre- announced examinations.

All Assessment Strategies and Evaluation Techniques given in the CBSE Guidelines will be followed at the High school level for Grades IX and X.

These include Periodic Assessments, Term assessment, Subject Enrichment activities, Multiple Assessment Strategies and Portfolio Assessments.
